Slept fitfully. Asked the two whether they would like to go up for height gain – and both promptly said “No !” Met David (English guy) who is trying to do it solo. Last year he did it till 8300 m. Gutsy. Heavy winds at greater heights. Many Sherpas tried going up but they couldn’t.
Had some difficulty coming down. Surprisingly, while rappeling – going out of breath and the right hand going weak. A couple of Sherpas helped in between. Side rapelled most of the way. Kanna tried to help. Reached ABC by 1030 hrs. Had breakfast. Felt terribly tired and drained. Spoke with Sinha around 1300 hrs. He and Swati are put up at Maurya Sheraton till 2nd.
Spoke to Mom. Seems Pop takes Abbu for swimming every afternoon to the nearby hotel – Windsor Castle. Spoke to Roney too.
Winds getting stronger.
