Nyalam Snowland Hotel Immigration formalities. Got the passports stamped for entry. Good breakfast. Started for Nyalam at 1130 hrs.Two Land Cruisers for members and a bus for the Sherpas. 1.5 hrs on kuccha roads, but hardly got to feel it – Toyota Land Cruiser is an excellent vehicle, no doubt.Reached by 1300 hrs – 3740 m.

Colder than Zhangmu as expected. Put up at Hotel Snowland, owned by Tashi. Small hotel but has internet connection! Call to India varies from 10 yuan to 20 yuan per minute. A hot water bath costs 10 Y ( 1 Y is approx  Rs 7 INR ). Food arranged from a restaurant opposite to the hotel. Decent stuff. Kankan Sir and I walked about a bit – small place.Gave a tinkle on their cell phones to a couple of buddies. The China Telecom Center was closed as it was a Saturday.

The language barrier is bad. Russians reached after us. Followed by many tourists. Am sitting in the restaurant of the hotel writing this –  finished the backlog of the trips log maintenance.

Checked mail. Got to know that Sheetal is expecting a baby boy. Sarangi said on the course website that I never cease to surprise !  It’s been nice sitting in the hotel’s bar listening music. I have to learn to live in the present – I am learning. I hope my parents aren’t unduly tense.
